It was announced at the 10th Presidential Summit of the Pacific Alliance comprising Chile, Colombia, Mexico & Peru that Peru would assume the presidency of the Pacific Alliance from July 3, 2015. Being the head of the alliance, Peru will face challenges of strengthening the alliance and securing its position at the global level. As per the policy, Peru should try its best to firm up the collaboration to generate investment opportunities, growth of the market and attract the business. The Chamber of Commerce of Lima (CCL) president mentioned that the alliance members should regularize and harmonize the technical standards of cosmetic products, hygiene, pharmaceuticals and medical devices in order to promote the business. The ministers of state of the four member countries, along with over 400 high-profile entrepreneurs, attended the summit to discuss issues such as competitiveness, productivity, innovation and education.
